St. Andrew’s Christmas Care Programs
Traditionally, St. Andrew’s supports a number of charitable efforts, before and during the Advent season. These include Pikangikum First Nations Reserve in Northwestern Ontario, Evangel Hall in Toronto, and Out of The Cold in Markham. We also assemble and personally deliver Christmas Baskets to several local individuals and families. We do this by raising funds.
We send Wal-Mart cards to mission workers who distribute them to families in Pikangikum. Wal-Mart delivers their individual purchases, primarily by air, directly to them in Pikangikum.
We purchase Grocery Cards for local support to allow purchases from Loblaws, No Frills, Shoppers Drug Mart and Freshco. Also, from the Christmas Virtual Market, we include frozen foods and freshly baked treats.
As waterproof gloves and hats are always needed, we are fortunate to be able to purchase them at a discounted price and provide them to Evangel Hall and Out of The Cold.
We are beginning our campaign starting after Remembrance Day and it will continue until Sunday, December 14th. This will allow us to purchase gift cards in time to get them to all of the people who need them.
People wishing to contribute can do so by directing their donation towards Christmas Care.
We thank you in advance for all of the support you give.
