Church Family News

Thank you for your continued support. Tithes and offerings are an important part of our faith and we are thankful for your willingness to give and support our ministry and community. Your contributions help us continue to spread our message of love and compassion to those in need. There are a number of ways you can give this week.

1. Interac E-Transfer
Send an e-transfer to givetostandrews@gmail.com.  Be sure to include your envelope # or first & last name & contact information in the message box so we can issue you a tax receipt. More info can be found online at: http://standrews-markham.ca/give/.

2. In-Person
Place your offering on the offering plate when you join our in-person worship service.

3. PAR Program
Pre-Authorized Remittance allows for a monthly withdrawal from your bank account. Contact Alex Szucs or the church office for more information.

4. Mail
Submit your tithes and offerings by mail, by sending a check to the church's address.  St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 143 Main Street North, Markham ON, L3P 1Y2.  For your convenience, post-dated cheques are also accepted.

Faith and Fellowship Bible Study

We will have our final study on May 8th. The next few studies will be on "The Lord's Supper".
- Why do Christians celebrate the Lord's Supper?
- What does it mean?
- Why is it important?

On May 15th, we will enjoy a luncheon together to mark our final meeting. We will resume our study group in September.

Our Faith and Fellowship group meet every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Scott Room at the church.

New members are always welcomed!

Switched on Seniors

Join us Thursday May 9th. It's our monthly chair yoga class with Christina DeFranco, come & feel invigorated! Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to hang coats and find a comfortable seat. It's also our monthly soup & sandwich lunch following the meeting, so plan to stay for lunch!
Prayer is an essential part of our spiritual journey and a powerful way to connect with God and each other. Every other Wednesday, members of our community come together over Zoom to pray, share their concerns and joys, and lift up each other in faith. If you are looking for a safe and supportive environment to explore the power of prayer and connect with your St. Andrew's family, then you are invited to join one, or all, of the prayer sessions noted below scheduled at 12 p.m. Click the button below to join.

If you are unable to attend this upcoming prayer session, consider marking your calendar with the other dates listed below.

Prayer Requests for Our Community

This week, please consider adding the following to your prayer time:

1. We pray for all who support PCC congregations and ministries with gifts of hospitality, helping strangers and seekers find a welcoming place in the church.

2. We give thanks for creative faith formation programs that congregations have developed to nurture people’s faith.

3. We give thanks for the beauty of creation and pray that the people and nations of the world are inspired to protect and care for the earth, as God intended.

How can we pray for you?
Do you have a prayer request?  Send your prayer requests to standrews1@bell.net or call the church office at 905-294-4736 and they will be shared in confidence with our prayer team.
