Just a thought

500 years ago, Martin Luther’s 95 theses (mainly against corruption in the church) spread throughout Germany and reached Rome.  In 1518 at an imperial diet (church leadership assembly), Luther debated his views with Cardinal Cajetan, leading to no resolution.  In 1521, Luther was excommunicated from the church at the Diet of Worms, Germany.  Luther’s concluding words were recorded:
“Unless I am convinced by Scripture and plain reason – I do not accept the authority of the popes and councils, for they have contradicted each other – my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. God help me. Amen.”

Sermon Information
On Sunday at both 9 and 10:30 am services, Peter will be giving a Thanksgiving message entitled, “A Psalm of Thanksgiving” based on Psalm 100.  This is a beautiful Psalm that invites us to praise and thanksgiving.  What stops us?  How can we this Thanksgiving be different?  Let’s talk about it on Sunday.

Our Bible Builders Church School will have a special Thanksgiving presentation!
Please consider bringing something for the Markham Food Bank to support people in need (see below).
